Elizabeth Kerwin

Elizabeth Kerwin, M.A., CMHC, a certified Iyengar yoga teacher and psychotherapist, holds her practice and teaching as a path inviting compassion towards self and other, as well as embodied self-reflection. Elizabeth’s passion for yoga includes study and practice of the devotional and philosophical aspects of this form centered in Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras, the classical explication of yoga as a spiritual path and way of being in the world. She has practiced with the inspired guidance of Senior teachers and the Iyengars themselves for more than 20 years. Elizabeth honors the depth and scope, as well as the meticulous refinement and care at the heart of Iyengar yoga.

Beginning/Intermediate -

In these classes, students who are experienced "mix" with beginners, and there will be times where people are practicing at different levels due to the need to accommodate all who are attending.

Thursday @ 12:00

Intermediate Level -

Students "continue" with the studies of yoga as described in the Beginners definition above; emphasis shifts to broadening and deepening in the poses, including more work with inversions, forward bends, twists and back bends. I like to use the word continuing to point towards the ongoing unfoldment in practice that brings gradual flowering without aggression, through dedicated, ongoing and self aware practice. We work towards greater inner freedom and peace as much as we develop in our knowledge and achievement of more proficiency in the poses.

Monday @ 7:00pm
